A voyeuristic landlord observes perverse sexual encounters taking place in his 1920s Tokyo boarding house. A beautifully photographed, hauntingly evocative and beguiling work, Watcher in the Attic set Noboru Tanaka firmly apart from his 'roman porno' contemporaries, exhibiting his distinctive and engagingly eccentric sensibilities. His skewed world view is forcefully driven home with complete directorial control and fabulously otherworldly atmosphere.
